Sanatana Announces Passing of Director Harley Hotchkiss

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 23, 2011) - It is with profound sadness that the directors of Sanatana Resources Inc. ("Sanatana" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:STA) announce the passing of their fellow board member Harley Norman Hotchkiss. Harley died early yesterday morning surrounded by his wife and five children.

Through his experience on numerous boards including Telus, TransCanada Pipe and Alberta Energy, Harley was instrumental in bringing a level of professionalism, competence, due diligence and credibility to the board of Sanatana that few companies have the privilege to enjoy. Harley took great joy in the complexities and risks associated with resource exploration and though he was known for his expertise in the oil and gas field, his geology degree was in hard rock mining. He was tireless as a businessman and was an active and integral board member of Sanatana.

Perhaps best known as the past Chairman of Board of Governors of the National Hockey League and as a significant owner of the Calgary Flames, Harley will always be remembered for his contributions to and his promotion of hockey in Canada. In addition, Harley was a noted philanthropist and donated generously to the many charities that were important to him, particularly the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. Harley was the recipient of numerous awards during his career including the T. Patrick Boyle award from the Fraser Institute and several honorary degrees. Finally, he was a Companion of the Order of Canada and a member of the Alberta Order of Excellence as well as an Honoured Member of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Harley will be sorely missed by the board, management and employees of Sanatana. We wish to express our sincere condolences to his wife Rebecca, his children, Brenda Mackie, Paul, Richard, John and Jeff Hotchkiss and also to his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
