Sanatana Reports Significant Rock Sample Gold Assay Values From Trenches Adjacent to Trelawney's Cote Lake Discovery

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 12, 2011) - Sanatana Resources Inc. ("Sanatana" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:STA) is pleased to announce that it has received positive grab sample results from the Company's recent trenching at the Watershed property located in the Swayze mining district in Ontario. The Company has an option to acquire up to 51% of the Watershed property from Augen Gold Corp. ("Augen") (TSX VENTURE:GLD). For further details on the option to acquire the Watershed property see the Company's news release dated March 30, 2011.

Sanatana has recently completed an IP survey over approximately 25 line kilometers of the Watershed property. The preliminary results of this survey show an east-west resistivity anomaly on the Company's Watershed property claim #3011820 just east of Clam Lake. The anomaly extends approximately 300 metres west from the claim's eastern boundary with Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc.'s ("Trelawney") property to the edge of Clam Lake and correlates well with the published IP trends on the Trelawney website. It is possible that this IP resistivity anomaly continues further to the west; however, the presence of Clam Lake prevented further surveying in the area.

As a result of the apparent correlation between the Trelawney and Sanatana data, the Company utilized an excavator to strip rock exposures on this IP anomaly. Geological observations where rock was exposed showed strong propylitic alteration, silification and weaker K-spar alteration in a sheared granodiorite with minor sulphides. Thirty-five grab samples were taken and the results received show the alteration carries significant anomalous gold.

The best result returned 3.09 g/t Au from a composite 5 kg sample taken randomly from a 10 square metre area near the central trend of the IP anomaly sampling a silicified Chester granodirite with limonite fractures. Another sample, 50 metres to the south, returned 0.91 g/t Au sampling a sheared propylitic mafic rock. Several other samples returned values over 0.3 ppm Au across 70 metres of stripping. In general, the higher gold values were associated with silica alteration.

Peter Miles, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sanatana said, "We view these grab sample results as significant as they indicate anomalous gold mineralization exists on our Watershed property, hosted in a geological setting similar to that reported in the adjacent Trelawney ground."

The Company is planning a drill program in the near future and has secured a drill rig to test both the down-dip extension of these targets and the IP anomalies at depth.

The IP geophysical survey has also generated other anomalies that warrant investigation. Sanatana is planning similar stripping/trenching/sampling programs over these anomalies to be conducted as soon as possible.

QA/QCAssays for the grab samples were completed at SPJ Labs in Lively, Ontario, an ISO:9001 certified laboratory. Initial fire assay with atomic adsorption finish was completed for all samples, and subsequently, for samples in excess of 0.03 g/t, a conventional gravimetric assay was conducted. The Company randomly inserts reference standards, blanks and duplicate control samples to monitor laboratory performance. Results reported herein have been checked and have undergone quality control review.
