SANBlaze Introduces iSCSI Storage Emulation System

System Assists Product Developers and Testers With 10G iSCSI Implementations

MAYNARD, MA--(Marketwire - October 4, 2010) - SANBlaze Technology, Inc., a pioneering provider of storage emulation systems, today announced the availability of storage emulation systems for iSCSI. Extending the capabilities of SANBlaze's industry leading VirtuaLUN product, support for the iSCSI protocol has been added to the other storage protocols supported by the product: Fibre Channel, FCoE and SAS.

The product provides the ability to emulate iSCSI targets with a wide range of configurable attributes, providing engineers with a flexible, scalable tool to simulate real Data Center Ethernet and SAN environments, at a fraction of the cost of real devices. The emulator provides full control and programmability of SCSI parameters and error conditions providing unique storage test conditions for network testing and development. An iSCSI target can be a disk, a tape, or a collection of each, such as a tape changer or storage array. Easily configurable target environments with optional storage profiles can be edited and saved for reuse. Multiple error conditions and triggers allow for complex error injection. Comprehensive reporting on storage and networking parameters, and additional features such as packet capture and tracing, provide a single, cost effective tool for simulation of iSCSI storage events and loads.

"With the success of our FCoE product and the increased usage of iSCSI at 10G speeds, our customers asked us to expand our product line and capabilities with iSCSI support," said Mitul Patel, Product Manager for the SANBlaze emulation product line. "Extending our existing SCSI based storage expertise and combining iSCSI and FCoE networking requirements is a natural product extension for SANBlaze and our customers."

iSCSI support for 10G Ethernet is provided in performance optimized emulation hardware in 2, 4, or 12 port configurations. The iSCSI emulation solution is also available in a software only version, optimized to run on Intel 10G NIC cards. SANBlaze iSCSI emulated ports can be used in conjunction with Fibre Channel or FCoE ports in a multi protocol configuration to optimize test equipment deployments if required.

The SANBlaze iSCSI target emulation systems and software are available immediately.
