Sandvine Professional Services Team Helps Grande Communications Achieve CALEA Compliance

WATERLOO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 20, 2007) - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC)(AIM:SAND) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for DSL, FTTH, cable and wireless carriers, today announced that Grande Communications has selected Sandvine's solutions for Intelligent Broadband Networks and its professional services organization to achieve CALEA compliance for Grande's high-speed Internet access customers.

CALEA (Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act) compliance is required by all broadband service providers in the US to have surveillance capabilities (wiretapping) on telephone exchanges and IP communications, such as VoIP (voice over IP), in the event of a court order. This requirement presented broadband providers in the US with a unique challenge that required an immediate solution.

Sandvine's solutions for Intelligent Broadband Networks have been deployed in Grande's network since the beginning of the year. Following the pending CALEA requirement, Sandvine's professional services team developed a solution that enabled Grande to achieve CALEA compliance by the May 14, 2007 deadline.

"Sandvine offers the ideal intelligence platform. We have been able to combat malicious traffic including spam and now we are fully CALEA compliant. The platform will enable us to continuously add solutions," said Brady Adams, Grande's VP of Engineering and Operations. "Sandvine's professional services team is extremely innovative and responsive. They are a true partner in finding solutions to our network challenges, while helping us achieve our business goals."

"The Sandvine professional services team worked diligently with CableLabs to develop a CALEA solution that was based on Cable Broadband Intercept Specification (CBIS)," said Don Bowman, a Sandvine co-founder and Vice President, Consulting Services. "We were proud to help Grande solve their technical and business challenges and meet the May 14th deadline."

Sandvine's professional services organization is comprised of a team of consulting systems engineers, systems integrators and software developers who provide technical expertise and solutions leadership to emerging broadband service provider challenges. The knowledgeable and experienced team of experts develops value-added services including specialized network and security solutions with a strategic vision that extends beyond immediate network problems and embodies the providers' business goals. Helping some of the largest broadband providers around the world, Sandvine's professional services team has developed solutions to protect service provider networks - DNS (domain name servers), mail server defense; achieve CALEA compliance; and provide network management and value-added solutions that enhance subscribers' applications and IP services.

Sandvine's award-winning network equipment helps DSL, FTTH, cable, and wireless broadband service providers characterize what is really happening on their networks, enabling policies that improve customer satisfaction, reduce operational costs and increase profitability.
