Sans Souci Restaurant at Renaissance Cleveland Hotel Introduces New Southern-Influenced Menus

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - Apr 27, 2015) - While the face of Public Square is changing, the new menus at Renaissance Cleveland Hotel's Sans Souci restaurant are also experiencing a revival. Influenced by Executive Chef Michael Harp, the lunch and dinner menus unveiled in March are now more casual with hints of his southern roots as well as a touch of Cleveland.

"My goal is to present menus featuring items that are more approachable and affordable for both the guests in the hotel and in the community," Harp explains. The change of philosophy is evidenced in his development within four categories: simple dishes showcasing the honest flavors of their ingredients, heartland plates featuring ingredients sourced from Northeast Ohio, cuisine inspired by his southern roots and international plates reflecting the Mediterranean influences from the original Sans Souci menu.

With his dedication to creating masterful works of culinary genius, Harp is enthralled with the new menus. Harp explains, "In the past, Sans Souci was perceived to be an upscale, fancy, special occasion restaurant. Our goal is to introduce a menu with diverse offerings that is driven by innovation and creative presentation served in a beautiful restaurant with an iconic setting."

The lunch menu begins with appetizers that are locally-inspired such as the Cleveland nachos with house made potato chips doused in Amish cheddar pimento cheese, J & J cuzeraj kielbasa cracklins' and Tony Packo's pickles. For an entrée, the menu offers the "Clevelandian", an indigenous twist to the Cuban sandwich with braised pork cheeks, Guggisberg swiss cheese and stadium mustard, as well as the Cleveland noodle bar featuring Ohio City ramen and house banchan.

The dinner menu integrates traditional favorites like grilled steak and baked potato with southern influenced shrimp and peach hushpuppies, topped with an Alabama white BBQ sauce. The menu also features a smoked pork chop with deviled egg mac 'n cheese swimming in a whiskey cola glaze topped with pork cheek cracklins' and redeye gravy. Guests can also choose from a selection of internationally-driven dishes that include baba ghanoush and naan bread.
