Sanu Resources Ltd.: Mogoraib Drilling Started

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 23, 2006) - Sanu Resources Ltd. (the Company" or "Sanu") (TSX VENTURE:SNU) announces the commencement of a 10,000 meter drill program on the Mogoraib license in western Eritrea. Two diamond drill rigs are being mobilized, with one rig to evaluate the Hambok discovery and the second for exploration of nearby prospects. Concurrent with the drilling, the Company will continue to upgrade and develop new drill targets throughout the Mogoraib and Kerkebet licenses. This program will be completed towards the end of the December quarter.

Hambok Drilling

At Hambok, drilling to date has identified a massive sulfide system extending for over a 1 kilometer (north-south) and down to a depth of 300 meters with the mineralized portions of the massive sulfides ranging in thickness from a few meters up to 40 meters. Approximately 5000 meters of drilling are planned at Hambok and will consist of in-fill drill-holes to expand on the higher grade zones as well as holes to test the on-strike and down-dip extent of the deposit.

Exploration Prospects

The Company will also drill test several prospects generated over the last 12 months including:

- Hambok North - a gravity anomaly with a strong coincident EM conductor approximately 500 meters in length located 1 kilometer north of Hambok. Soil geochemistry response over the gravity anomaly is similar to that at Hambok.

- Ankereit - a large complex gravity anomaly also with a coincident EM conductor 3.5 kilometers north and along strike.

- Hambok Southeast - a gravity anomaly approximately 400 meters in length and 1.7 kilometers from Hambok.

- Ashelli - The gravity survey will be extended to better define a promising gravity anomaly some 300-400 meters southeast of the zinc-anomalous drill intersections completed last year. On completion of the gravity survey and modeling of the anomalies, drilling will be done.

Target Generation

Concurrent with the drilling, exploration work will continue to upgrade and develop new exploration targets throughout the Mogoraib and Kerkebet licenses. This work will include gravity surveys, ground EM, soil and rock sampling, and mapping. The objective of this program is to generate several new drill ready prospects by the end of January 2007.
