SANYO Canada Exhibits "Creating, Storing, and Conserving Energy" at the Green Living Show in Toronto

With solar panels, HVAC and the eneloop universe, environmental technology takes the stage

WOODBRIDGE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 20, 2009) - SANYO Canada Inc. (SANYO), a subsidiary of SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., will be showcasing its environmental technology and products based on the theme of "Creating, Storing, and Conserving Energy" at Booth 2001 at this year's Green Living Show in Toronto April 24 to April 26.

Among the broad line-up of SANYO's environmental technologies and products to be featured are SANYO's unique HIT® solar modules, "Creating" clean, renewable energy from the sun, the 'eneloop universe', an entire series of green products based on SANYO's 'eneloop' rechargeable battery, a "Storing" solution for available energy, and HVAC units that highlight the "Conserving" theme by saving energy for other purposes.

The Green Living Show, now in its third year, has grown exponentially as people have become more aware of their own environmental impact. The show is designed to show people the latest new green products and services as well as help visitors gain earth-friendly advice and useful information that can be applied directly to daily life.

For "Creating" energy, SANYO's HIT® modules will be displayed to help create awareness of the availability of clean energy power generation for the Canadian public. The modules meet requirements of Canadian residential and commercial customers. The solar panels also offer superior performance for higher energy generation output, premium quality for higher reliability and durability, and innovative design to lower installation time and cost, as well as aesthetic appeal.

"Storing" energy requires a battery, but preferably one that can keep the energy stored for a long period of time and can be used again and again. The 'eneloop universe' display promotes a lifestyle that values reusing precious resources. The original product in the universe is the aptly named 'eneloop' rechargeable battery that was the first product to embody SANYO's green brand vision "Think GAIA."

The battery was named by combining the words "energy" and "looping" to recognize the cycle of energy and was first launched in November, 2005 in Japan. Since the initial announcement, it has been an incredible success, with a total of 80 million cells being shipped to more than 60 countries worldwide by the end of March, 2009.

From the green lifestyle proposed by the 'eneloop' battery, an entire universe of products has been created. At the Green Living Show, visitors can see and experience first-hand the 'eneloop bike', a Hybrid Electric Bicycle (assist bicycle), the 'eneloop solar light', an emergency light and flashlight powered by natural sunlight, the 'eneloop air fresher', a battery-powered air purification system that fits in the cup holder of a car, the 'eneloop soft warmer', a battery-powered portable electric blanket, and the 'eneloop kairo' hand warmer that is both stylish and effective at keeping hands warm by using battery power only when activated.

Designed specifically to "Conserve" energy, the HVAC technology and products on display at SANYO Booth #2001 are Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) applicable products, offer incredible initial cost value, with immense flexibility for space requirements.
