SAP Users on Four51 Network Demand and Receive Streamlined Shopping Experience

MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - July 14, 2008) - Four51's latest technology release enables SAP users to integrate purchase order processing with their Four51 web-based catalogs. The functionality was prompted by demand from print buyers running SAP who were looking for integration with print sellers.

OCI, Open Catalog Interface, was created and is exclusively used by SAP. It allows SAP users to logon to their SAP system, within a module called Enterprise Buyer Professional, open a new purchase order and click a link to shop in a print seller's Four51 website. The link opens a web browser that automatically logs the users into a Four51 catalog where they place items in their shopping cart and submit the order. Upon submission, Four51 electronically sends the order back to the SAP system. The order is then routed through SAP's already established requisition and approval processes. Once the SAP system confirms the order with Four51 through an electronic purchase order, the order appears in a print seller's Four51 administrative interface.

This process allows Four51 customers who have buyers that use SAP to integrate seamlessly through an entirely electronic workflow. SAP print buyers gain advantages in reduced purchasing costs, the ability to prevent unauthorized spending and the capability to offload the management of product SKUs to the print seller as opposed to maintaining them in their own SAP database.

Print sellers also benefit from OCI functionality by reducing the cost to process purchase orders, improving data sharing with their customers and providing a unique and practical solution to SAP print buyers.
