Saputo Announces the Closure of its Cheese Manufacturing Plant in Saint-Boniface, Quebec

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - May 26, 2005) - Saputo Inc.(TSX:SAP) today announced the closure of the cheese manufacturing plant in Saint-Boniface, Quebec. The plant will cease to operate on July 29, 2005, and its activities will be integrated into those of other Saputo facilities. In all, 35 employees will be affected, some of whom will be given the possibility of transfer to Company plants elsewhere. This decision stems from a continuous process of analysis of the Company's activities as a whole and the implementation of measures aimed primarily at improving the Company's operational efficiency.
