SaskCentral Recognized as Canada's Best Workplace for Women

REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - April 12, 2011) - SaskCentral is proud to have been named "Canada's Best Workplace for Women" and one of the 100 "Best Workplaces in Canada" for 2011 by the Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The list of Canada's top 100 workplaces was announced in today's Globe and Mail national newspaper.

"We strive to make SaskCentral a positive working environment for all employees regardless of gender," says Ken Anderson, SaskCentral CEO. "We are very proud that our female employees feel supported and are able to balance family and career. We understand that life is complicated so we've developed programs and policies that give our employees flexibility and support."

The SaskCentral CEO credits the organization's employees for this recognition and their contribution to a constructive culture.

"It's really the employees—their positive attitude and dedication—that makes SaskCentral a strong, successful organization," says Ken Anderson, SaskCentral CEO. "The quality of the customer service we provide to Saskatchewan credit unions and the respect and camaraderie in our workplace are due to the efforts of our employees. We consider it a great accomplishment that our employees find working here so rewarding."

The competition for the 100 "Best Workplaces in Canada" is based on two criteria. Two-thirds of the total score comes from an employee survey, along with open-ended comments about the organization. The remainder comes from an in-depth review of the organization's culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. To determine the Best Workplace for Women, the survey responses of women are separated and analyzed. Consideration is also given to the company's human resources policies and practices that support work/life balance as well as the number of women in leadership roles. This list of "Best Workplaces in Canada" is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada.
