SavATree Presents EAB Seminar at National Arboretum

BEDFORD HILLS, NY--(Marketwired - May 14, 2014) -  As Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) spreads across regions of the country, it leaves in its wake more than 100 million dead ash trees and a price tag in the billions of dollars. Although experts predict that every ash tree in North America is at risk, the good news is that proper planning and management can save trees and save money.

Because early detection and planning is key to EAB management, SavATree has launched a series of free educational events, including an EAB seminar and treatment demonstration at the National Arboretum on May 30th. Presenters include Mike Galvin, Director of The Consulting Group at SavATree and distinguished entomologist and professor at The University of Maryland, Mike Raupp.

Also in May, SavATree will co-host EAB webinars and seminars along with the Chicago Botanic Garden, where SavATree serves as EAB Management Partner and Principal Tree Health Care Sponsor. Local residents, landscaping professionals, property managers and municipal employees are invited to attend any EAB event to learn more about the pest and how to prepare for its inevitable arrival.

For any property owner in a SavATree service area, an arborist is available to pay a complimentary visit to determine whether ash trees are present, assess their health, and discuss available options along with the cost associated with each.
