Save Our Soles -- a Socks for the Needy Program by Bay Area Foot & Laser Podiatry Group

BERKELEY, CA--(Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - The Bay Area Foot & Laser Podiatry Group is pleased to announce the launch of "Save Our Soles" -- a socks for the needy drive beginning November 16, 2010 in their four Bay Area offices, and will continue throughout the Holiday season.

"There are many needy individuals that have been forced to wear the same pair of socks for days or weeks at a time," says Dr Mark Wolpa founder of the Bay Area Foot & Laser Podiatry Group. "For those with diabetes, impaired circulation, or neuropathy, this can lead to serious infections which may result in the loss of a limb or even loss of life," Wolpa explains.

"Most of us view putting on clean socks as a daily habit, but to many people putting on a clean and dry pair of socks is a luxury," Wolpa states.

The Bay Area Foot & Laser Podiatry Group hopes to collect enough socks to distribute to shelters throughout the Bay Area before the cold and wet weather begins.

New socks of all sizes including children's, can be dropped off or mailed to any of our four offices in Berkeley, Walnut Creek, Greenbrae, or Santa Rosa says Dr Wolpa. For directions and addresses of our offices please visit our website
