Save Our Water & OSH Partner on Water-Wise Gardening Giveaway

SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 5, 2011) - Save Our Water, California's largest statewide water conservation public education program, has joined with Orchard Supply Hardware to help promote water conservation in California. Today, an email newsletter was sent to thousands of hardware retailer's customers, providing each one with a coupon for a complimentary copy of Sunset magazine's "Easy Water-Wise Gardening" guide.

"We are delighted to join with Orchard Supply Hardware to help educate more Californians about the benefits of water-wise gardening," said Timothy Quinn, executive director of the Association of California Water Agencies, which created the Save Our Water program with the California Department of Water Resources. "Research shows that most people are willing to conserve but need help finding new ways to save water at home. Making smart changes to our landscaping is an easy and important way to reduce our household water use."

The 32-page guide provides information and ideas on landscape design, plant selection, water-saving irrigation systems, ways to catch and save water, and strategies for reducing the need to water, such as using plenty of mulch.
