Savoir Affaires Centre-du-Quebec Receives Funding from Government of Canada

DRUMMONDVILLE, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2012) - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces the awarding of financial assistance for the Centre-du-Québec region's first ever Savoir Affaires networking activity, an event officially announced today by its organizing committee.

"The Government of Canada is giving new impetus to economic growth and job creation by supporting Savoir Affaires Centre-du-Québec, an event that gives the business and university communities a unique opportunity to join forces to further the economic development of the region," said Minister Lebel.

Savoir Affaires Centre-du-Québec will take place Monday, January 28, through Friday, February 1, 2013, in Drummondville, and will focus on the theme of sustainable development. Participants will be invited to propose growth-generating projects and identify business opportunities that have the potential to stimulate key sectors of the regional economy. The goal is to help Centre-du-Québec businesses overcome challenges they are facing in such areas as foreign competition and ultimately improve their performance.

Information:

This funding, granted in the form of a $40,000 non-repayable contribution, has been awarded through Canada Economic Development's Quebec Economic Development Program. It will be used to, among other things, cover the costs associated with following up on the proposed projects over the next year.
