Sayre Memorial Hospital of Oklahoma Selects T-System EHR to Modernize Emergency Department

Facility Chooses T SystemEV for Usability, Interoperability, Ease of Documentation and Meaningful Use

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - March 30, 2011) - Sayre Memorial Hospital, a 46-bed rural community hospital in Sayre, Okla., has selected T SystemEV®, the industry's leading emergency department (ED) information system from T-System, Inc., to improve the quality of care for its ED patients, enhance clinical and revenue performance, and demonstrate Meaningful Use requirements to qualify for federal funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

Sayre Memorial has used T-System's T-Sheets paper documentation solution since 2008 and expects a smooth transition and fast adoption to the ED electronic health record (EHR). The hospital will begin implementing T SystemEV, the ONC-ATCB certified version 3.0, this spring over 16 weeks in its level 4 trauma ED and expects to meet Meaningful Use Stage 1 core objectives by June 30.

According to Sayre Memorial Hospital Chief Executive Officer Wally Boyd, "T SystemEV has a high degree of universal adoption by ED physicians and nurses across the country. It is an excellent, user-friendly system backed by its comprehensive clinical content, which supports nearly all the complexities inherent in emergency department workflow. The ED automation will also help us boost efficiency and meet our goal of becoming paperless with the elimination of paper charts."

Sayre Memorial has chosen to go with a best-of-breed solution for the ED and will interface
T SystemEV with its inpatient EHR system. This data exchange will enable its ED to connect with the hospital's laboratory and pharmacy departments to allow clinicians to share data and create seamless continuity of care for all patients.

Boyd further pointed out that T SystemEV will prompt the ED clinicians to capture information that they might not otherwise record. "This extra measure of accountability will help Sayre standardize documentation, capture required information for Meaningful Use, comply with regulations, and accelerate more accurate billing to increase revenue," he said.

"Sayre Memorial Hospital's decision to extend their partnership with T-System validates the strength of our solutions in accommodating the unique needs of the emergency department," said Mikael Ohman, chief operations officer, T-System, Inc. "With the help of our ONC-ATCB certified solution, Sayre Memorial can qualify for ARRA incentives, ensure high quality care and capture the appropriate documentation needed to optimize revenue."
