Scalable Display Technologies Announces Completion of Installation for U.S. Coast Guard

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - July 12, 2010) -  Scalable Display Technologies, a leading provider of software for multi-projector display systems, today announced the completed installation of its EasyBlend software in an aircrew weapons training simulator for the U.S. Coast Guard. Pathfinder Systems, which specializes in the management and execution of U.S. government contracts, led the project to develop the Coast Guard Aircrew Weapons Trainer (CGAWT) in support of the U.S. Coast Guard's helicopter aircrew weapons training.

Pathfinder Systems selected Scalable's EasyBlend software to calibrate the color and geometry of the seven full high-definition projectors from JVC. Capable of being quickly and easily converted to accommodate MH-60C and MH-60J aircraft types, the CGAWT is installed at the US Coast Guard Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Alabama and will be used as a simulation device to train aerial gunnery.

"Scalable Display has earned a reputation for providing the industry's most accurate and easy to use auto-calibration solution for multi-projector displays," said Ivan Jaszlics, Vice President, Pathfinder Systems, Inc. "We appreciate that precision is a must-have for a training device of this kind, and this is why we recommend Scalable's EasyBlend technology."

EasyBlend software offers the greatest level of technical precision in the industry, making it the ideal auto-calibration technology for defense simulation. Using a patented camera-generated feedback system to calculate pixel-perfect instructions, or warp meshes, EasyBlend automatically calibrates the display and completes the task of aligning multiple projector display systems within seconds to achieve the highest quality multi-projector edge-blended images with rich and precise color.

"At Scalable, we understand the high precision required for this type of simulator and we are honored to have our EasyBlend solution included in this project," said Scalable CEO Andrew Jamison. "As the simulation market matures, customers are gaining an appreciation for the precise geometric uniformity offered by Scalable Display."
