A night of Burlesque, Vaudeville, Jazz and risque entertainment

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Feb. 1, 2010) - Following the sensational success of her 1st International Burlesque Festival of Montreal, Scarlett James, in collaboration with Rossetti, are proud to present the GRAND BURLESQUE SHOW, featuring international star and Miss Exotic World Queen of Burlesque 2007, Immodesty Blaize. This majestic event will bring together the world's finest burlesque performers, Vaudeville acts and 20 musicians of the Montreal All City Big Band to recreate the authentic atmosphere of legendary cabarets at the Club Soda (1225, St-Laurent, Montreal), on Saturday March 6th, 2010 at 8:30 pm

"The show will take the audience back to the glory days of Montreal burlesque nightclubs, for which the city had become famous around the world," said creator and producer Scarlett James. "It is an homage to the Folies Bergere, the Ziegfeld Follies and the nightlife of Paris, Montreal, New York, London and Chicago in the 1940s-50s." Scarlett James imagined the event to revive the frivolity, the charm, the class and the artistry of the greatest effeuilleuses, the dames of burlesque, along with the pure pleasures of Vaudeville.

British phenomenon Immodesty Blaize will be joined on stage by the aristocracy of burlesque, including stars Renea Leroux, Gentry de Paris, Coco Framboise (the Toronto sensation), Michelle L'Amour, Amber Ray, Debra Lynn Brown and her troupe, Line 1. Their daring costumes and outrageous numbers, conceived to tease, seduce and thrill, will dazzle the Club Soda and promise to leave the public gasping for more.

The gorgeous Scarlett James, known as the Countess of Burlesque, will also premiere her new number "L'Oiseau Exotique" ("The Exotic Bird"), co-choreographed by Debra Lynn Brown.

In all, the GRAND BURLESQUE SHOW presents 16 spectacular acts of glamorous striptease, vintage entertainment and seductive live music to please connoisseurs and new fans, eager to discover the true art of burlesque.

(Interview requests, photo opportunities and a private preview has been scheduled for the press at Koko, Opus Montreal Hotel (10, Sherbrooke West), on Friday, March 5th at 2 p.m. All media must be accredited.)
