Scarsdale Veterinarians Voted Among the "Top Vets" in Westchester County

SCARSDALE, NY--(Marketwire - Jan 22, 2012) - Scarsdale veterinarians at Central Animal Hospital have been voted among the "Top Vets" in Westchester County for a second year in a row. The veterinarians were selected by their peers to receive the honor in 2011 and 2012. The animal hospital offers wellness care, surgical care and boarding to the Scarsdale, White Plains, and surrounding communities. In addition to dogs, cats, and pocket pets, the clinic also provides exotic pet veterinary services for birds, lizards, snakes, turtles and other exotics.

Central Animal Hospital announced that the veterinary team was voted among the "Top Vets." The listing appears in the March 2012 issue of Westchester Magazine.

The "Top Vets" honors were bestowed following an exhaustive peer-review survey. Veterinarians and specialists throughout the Westchester area cast hundreds of votes on the abilities of other veterinarians and specialists -- with the Central Animal Hospital team receiving top honors.

"Our entire veterinary team is honored to be recognized as among the best," said Dr. Michael Woltz, the director of Central Animal Hospital. "Receiving this distinction is especially meaningful since it is based on votes by our fellow veterinarians and companion animal care specialists. To be selected as the best by your peers is a great honor, and only strengthens our commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate Westchester veterinary care."

Several pet patients at the clinic were also named "Best Pet" by the magazine in 2011. Interested individuals can view pictures of these pets in the photo gallery on the vet hospital's website,

The veterinary hospital offers comprehensive wellness care and advanced surgical care with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools. These tools include x-rays, ultrasounds, blood analyzers, and endoscopes, which are used to detect, identify and treat diseases, allergies, and other health problems. During surgery, the veterinary team utilizes cardiac monitors, pulseoximeters, and EKG machines to monitor anesthesized pets.

The clinic provides routine wellness care for dogs and cats, including pet vaccinations, spay and neuter surgery, dental care and annual exams. The veterinary hospital also provides exotic veterinary services for a variety of exotic pets, including birds and reptiles.

"Every day, we strive to provide the highest quality services to all pets," said Dr. Woltz. "Whether a pet is here for a routine check-up, requires advanced surgical care, or needs chemotherapy, each pet's health is our primary concern. We do everything in our power to keep our pets healthy, happy, and active for life."

The vet hospital also operates a full-service boarding facility, with 2 licensed veterinary technicians living on the premises. The technicians are also on hand to provide care for hospitalized pets. The boarding facility, which is licensed by Westchester County, also includes a special quiet room for feline patients.

The veterinary hospital is also an accredited member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Only 15% of hospitals in North America meet the stringent criteria for this accreditation.
