Schreder Lighting, Partner of a Successful Euro 2012

Schreder Is Proud to Contribute to the Success of Euro 2012 by Providing Performing Lighting Solutions for Two of the Main Stadiums Hosting the European Football Championship

KIEV, UKRAINE--(Marketwire - Jun 28, 2012) -  Originally built in 1923, the Olympic Stadium in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, underwent extensive renovation works based on a design by the German architects Gerkan, Marg und Partners (GMP) to host the championship. The stadium is welcoming over 66,000 visitors for several games including the final on 1st July.

After the fantastic experience of the World Cup 2010, the Schreder teams in Ukraine and South Africa worked in close collaboration with the architects and the German lighting design office, Conceptlicht, to provide lighting for most of the public areas in this spectacular stadium.

Just over 1,200 Schreder Cubo luminaires, equipped with traditional light sources and designed to meet the specific lighting requirements of Conceptlicht, were installed to light the main entrance hall, VIP and spectator areas.

Over 1968.50 feet of the Schreder LEDbeam, which illuminates the famous Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, South Africa, were installed to illuminate the upper ring of the public seating area. These luminaires are controlled by a DALI system to provide dynamic effects during the event.

The most spectacular lighting has been achieved by 640 specially designed Schreder luminaires which illuminate the magnificent roof of the stadium, creating a striking feature in the landscape. These luminaires also have a DALI color variation system so that they can be dimmed according to the requirements, during the matches.

Schreder also provided the lighting for the entrance to the National Stadium in Warsaw which hosted the opening match. More than 280 Schreder Tubulus Maxi luminaires were installed to light the access and surrounding areas.
