Sciax Provides Details of the BASE 1 Product

BAY CITY, MI and TORONTO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 11, 2005 -- Sciax Corp. (OTC: SCXC) is pleased to provide details regarding applications for which the BASE 1 product was designed.

Patent Number 6,629,944 for BASE 1 was granted to Sciax Technology Inc. in 2003. The rights to market and sell the resulting product had been previously assigned to Linvatec Corporation via an Asset Purchase Agreement as has been previously announced.

The BASE 1 is a limb positioning device designed for orthopaedic surgical applications. The device allows surgeons to more accurately position patient limbs during surgical procedures and is particularly valuable in shoulder operations. It is comprised of several components that allow articulation about several points, a means of securing and releasing the positions attained from further movement, attachment to fixed surfaces such as an operating table and disposable components that are replaced for each new procedure. The disposable components are those that are designed to receive a patient's arm, leg or ankle.
