ScienceLogic Expands Management Team to Propel Corporate Growth

Tech Veterans Bring More Than 40 Years of Sales and Marketing Experience to IT Operations and Cloud Management Company

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwire - Jun 21, 2011) - ScienceLogic Inc., a provider of IT operations and cloud management solutions, today announced the appointments of Steve Harriman as senior vice president of marketing and Scott Sherwood as senior vice president of sales. These latest management hires will enable ScienceLogic to meet the increasing demand for centralized management solutions that optimize IT service delivery across any mix of physical, virtual and cloud environments.

Harriman has more than 20 years of experience in technology marketing, fueling business growth for companies of all sizes ranging from start-ups to publicly traded corporations. At ScienceLogic, he is responsible for product marketing, brand awareness and demand generation as well as sales and partner enablement. Previously, Harriman served as SVP of marketing at NetQoS, where he helped grow revenues from $10 million to $56 million, acquire more than 1,000 enterprise customers and establish the company as a leader in network performance management prior to its acquisition by CA Technologies. Prior to NetQoS, Steve worked for Sterling Software (acquired by CA Technologies) and Candle Corporation (acquired by IBM). Harriman began his career in data center operations and systems programming in the UK.

Sherwood leads all aspects of global sales, channel and business development efforts for ScienceLogic, drawing on more than 20 years of experience in sales, management and consulting. He is focused on expanding the sales team by hiring top sales executives with industry knowledge as well as building and strengthening partnerships with key alliances. As the former SVP of worldwide sales at NetQoS (acquired by CA Technologies), Sherwood was instrumental in acquiring a 'who's who' of Global 2000 customers, including half of the Fortune 50, and delivering 31 sequential quarters of double-digit revenue growth. Before NetQoS, he was in sales management at NetSolve (acquired by Cisco), a provider of network services that went public in 1999.

"Our rapid growth and the support of New Enterprise Associate's capital investment has enabled ScienceLogic to hire two proven leaders during a pivotal time for the company, when our long-term focus on helping enterprises and service providers manage distributed computing resources gives us a distinct advantage in cloud computing," said David Link, CEO of ScienceLogic. "Steve and Scott have already made a positive impact at ScienceLogic and will help us capitalize on the tremendous opportunities ahead as organizations adapt to a significant shift in the computing model and evaluate the next generation of automated tools to manage compute anywhere."

More businesses are relying on the benefits of cloud computing, which include increased business agility, decreased costs, and better resource utilization. As a recent ScienceLogic survey conducted at Interop Las Vegas revealed, 70 percent of respondents have deployed or are planning to deploy public, private or hybrid cloud resources. However, nearly as many admit to not having confidence in their strategy for managing the performance of those cloud computing resources. ScienceLogic enables customers to deliver optimal service delivery across highly distributed and dynamic virtual and cloud environments. The company recently launched ScienceLogic EM7 version 7.1 that extends its ability to help enterprises and service providers centrally manage heterogeneous physical, virtual and cloud environments today and easily incorporate management of new applications, components or services as their infrastructures evolve.
