Scientist Solutions Files Legal Case Against LabRoots for Infringement of Intellectual Property

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - April 29, 2009) - Scientist Solutions, a life sciences company globally connecting scientists through its premier online discussion board and multi-vendor product shows, announced today that it had filed an unfair competition / misappropriation of trade secrets case against LabRoots in the Superior Court in the State of California. The complaint alleges that LabRoots, which is owned and operated by two former Scientist Solutions Shareholders, Officers and Board Members, misused, misappropriated and disclosed confidential information and infringed on Scientist Soluitons' intellectual property for improper competitive advantage. In addition, the lawsuit alleges that LabRoots' founders solicited Scientist Solutions' customers and suppliers and otherwise sought to damage Scientist Solutions while still employed by Scientist Solutions.

"Since 2004, we have invested millions of dollars to develop and market Scientist Solutions as the ultimate online destination and hub for scientific information exchange," said Scientist Solutions Founder and CEO Marcia Allen. "It is distressing that the very people we trusted to protect us, used that trust to take advantage of us. We will fight hard to protect our intellectual property and the proprietary confidential information we worked so hard to obtain."
