Score! Jellyvision's ALEX® Does Health Care Reform Takes Home eHealthcare Leadership Award

Virtual Health Care Reform Expert Nabs Prize for Innovation in Business/Process Improvement

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - Nov 20, 2013) - The Jellyvision Lab, creator of ALEX®, the virtual employee benefits counselor, today broke ground on a new awards cabinet annex after its ALEX Does Health Care Reform product was recognized with an eHealthcare Leadership Award. Chosen from more than 1,100 entries by a judging group of 121 health care and internet experts, ALEX Does Health Care Reform won Silver in the Best Interactive Site category for "Business/Process Improvement Application or Products" and was the only health care reform communications solution to be honored with an award.

ALEX Does Health Care Reform is a cloud-based education tool that employers of all sizes use to help employees understand how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will affect them as individuals. This ALEX experience eases the burden of communicating reform-related changes and helps employers avoid employee freak-outs over things like the individual mandate, guaranteed issue, exchanges/marketplaces, Medicaid expansion and other health care reform-related topics.

"In preparation for key provisions of the Affordable Care Act and an increasingly competitive landscape, organizations accelerated their investment in digital communications," says Mark Gothberg, eHealthcare Leadership Awards chairman. "Organizations made major improvements in their websites, increased their involvement in social media, more fully integrated newer media outlets with traditional marketing vehicles, and expanded mobile efforts to better serve current and future customers."

"We did a survey this fall that found that 71.5 percent of benefits-eligible employees think it's 'important' or 'very important' to understand health care reform," said Harry Gottlieb, creator of ALEX. "Here's the challenge: The health care reform law is 1,990 pages long. It's super easy to make it complicated. When we built ALEX Does Health Care Reform, we worked hard to make it short and simple. And, by using interactivity, we can stay focused on what each individual employee actually needs to know. We're really grateful to be recognized for our efforts."
