Scotiabank and Studentawards Inc. today announced the launch of the Scotiabank Line of Credit Adventures contest. The comic-book-themed online contest is designed to help students and their parents feel at ease with the application requirements for a ScotiaLine(R) personal line of credit for students.

"At Scotiabank we are committed to speaking to students in an engaging and relevant way, while still providing credible and reliable information to make a real impact in their lives," said Ray Baldelli, Vice-President, Retail Loans, Scotiabank. "Now more than ever we are committed to bringing students opportunities to pay for their post secondary education."

The contest combines the dynamic look and feel of action comic books with the inherent dynamism of integrated video clips to tell the story and keep the action moving. By following the video adventures of two typical Canadians, students and their parents can identify with the challenges of paying for a post-secondary education. The online contest also gives students the opportunity to win one of 12 $1,000 cash prizes to help pay for school.

"Studentawards is delighted to continue to work with Scotiabank to create opportunities that engage the substantial membership and reach youth in both official languages across Canada," said Lesley Gouldie, Chief Executive Officer, Studentawards Inc.

The Scotiabank Line of Credit Adventures contest is available at until October 30, 2009, as part of Scotiabank's Fund Your Future initiative. This initiative provides Canadian students and their parents with information and interactive tools for budgeting and financial planning towards post-secondary education.

Students who visit or will be directed to the contest through a multi-component Web advertising strategy. In addition, hundreds of thousands of members will be targeted through a multi-phase email campaign.
