Scotiabank Emerging Markets Forum at the Economic Club

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 24, 2013) - Three-quarters of Canadian exports go to the United States, although this share has dropped by more than 10 per cent since 2002. U.S. sales are faltering and businesses are taking advantage of new opportunities in Europe and in rapidly growing emerging nations. Canada's traditional trading partners are likely to undergo a prolonged period of economic adjustment and moderate growth. The key to regaining and sustaining Canadian export momentum lies in developing new markets and strategic alliances, particularly in Asia and Latin America. The Scotiabank Emerging Markets Forum will examine economic trends and opportunities in this new world.
