The Canadian Men's Volleyball team's bid to return to the World League men's volleyball tournament in 2012 will continue July 29 and 30 at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa in a two-match series against either Slovakia or Slovenia.

Ticket prices are $18 (and $8 for children 14 and under); Two-match (Friday and Saturday) ticket packages are available for $27. Groups of 10 or more will receive a $4 discount on regular priced tickets. General admission seating (plus CRF and service charges).

The opponent will be finalized following the completion of the European Confederation Tournament. Canada is assured of hosting the matches due to its current ranking of 22nd in the world compared to 33rd for Slovakia and 39th for Slovenia.

Canada kept its World League hopes alive last month with a bronze medal performance at the Pan Am Cup in Gatineau, Que.

The last time Canada competed in the World League was in 2007 when it placed 13th. The FIVB World League, now in its 22nd year, is a 16-country intercontinental tournament which runs for greater than a six-week period every summer and offers the biggest cash prizes in the sport.

Both matches in Ottawa will start at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the series will be based on a formula of the winning team earning three points for a 3-0 or 3-1 win in sets and two points for a 3-2 win. The loser in a 3-0 or 3-1 set would not receive any points while earning one point for a 3-2 loss.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.CapitalTickets.ca, by phone at 613-599-FANS (3267) or 1-877-788-FANS (3267); in person at The Sens Store at Place d'Orléans, any Ottawa Sports Experts location, Les Galeries de Hull and at the Scotiabank Place box office.

If Canada wins the first round of qualifying it will also host the second round next month against the 15th or 16th place team in this year's World League.
