OTTAWA, ONTARIO—-(CCNMatthews – Oct. 12, 2006) - Scotiabank Place, Carleton University and the University of Ottawa announced today that Scotiabank Place will showcase two of the top men's basketball programs in the country, when the Carleton Ravens take on the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees in the Capital Hoops Classic on Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 8 p.m.

This game will mark the first of an annual regular-season event between the two schools, and will present some of the finest basketball players in the country. "The schools have established themselves as two of the best men's basketball programs in Canada, and we see the Capital Hoops Classic as a great way to showcase national calibre basketball in Ottawa's premier sports entertainment venue."
