Scotiabank Presents Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - July 2, 2014) - Canada Place is proud to host free outdoor movie nights every Thursday in July and August, starting July 10. As part of the Canada Place Summer Series, Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place will be presented by Scotiabank and take place on the North Point of the facility.

Every Thursday evening at dusk, Fresh Air Cinema will project a popular film on their large three story inflatable screen. In keeping with Canada Place's mission to provide inspirationally Canadian experiences, each film will feature great Canadian talent.

The schedule is as follows, every Thursday evening at dusk:

  • July 10 - Back to the Future (Michael J. Fox)
  • July 17 - Liar Liar (Jim Carrey)
  • July 24 - Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (Mike Myers)
  • July 31 - Uncle Buck (John Candy)
  • August 7 - Ghostbusters (Dan Aykroyd and Rick Moranis)
  • August 14 - The Notebook (Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams)
  • August 21 - The Hunger Games (Donald Sutherland)
  • August 28 - Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (William Shatner)

The 'Scotiabank presents Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place' series is part of the larger Scotiabank outdoor movie series this summer that gives film-lovers an opportunity to watch their favourite flicks for free. The national series will bring 32 free movie events to seven cities across Canada including Vancouver, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.

Seat cushions will be available on-site at Canada Place for purchase during the evening of each movie and the first 300 people will receive free popcorn from Scotiabank. Please note that Canada Place is not licensed to serve alcohol. Full event details are available at www.canadaplace.ca.
