Scripps Selects Stentor to Provide iSite® PACS (Picture Archive and Communications System)

BRISBANE, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 15, 2005 -- Stentor, a leader in the distribution, management and storage of digital medical images, today announced that Scripps has entered into a five-year agreement to implement Stentor's iSite PACS for on-demand delivery, management and storage of diagnostic-quality images across its network. To date, Scripps has installed iSite PACS in three facilities with a fourth facility set to go live at the end of June 2005.

"Stentor is excited to partner with Scripps, a leader in medical innovation and technology, and provide them with our iSite PACS solution," said Jeff Otten, CEO of Stentor. "We are proud to be working with such a prominent institution, helping them create a healthcare IT solution designed to enhance the delivery of quality patient care across their network."

Through its relationship with Stentor, the Scripps Health System, averaging about 700,000 medical imaging studies per year, will have enterprise-wide image access, radiology reading stations, and always-online long-term storage. Scripps will also be able to integrate its electronic health record (EHR) software with iSite PACS using Stentor's API.

"Stentor's iSite PACS has been very efficient to implement, which is a testament to the technology with which it is built," said Jean Balgrosky, Scripps Sr. Vice President and Chief Information Officer. "Also noteworthy is the Stentor support organization that has worked so well with the Scripps Information Services team. Together, we have delivered a digital image management solution that has transformed the way our physicians and caregivers access information."

The response from physicians using the new PACS system has been enthusiastic.

"The PACS system is very easy to use," said Peter Aldrich, M.D., Ph.D., Medical Director of Urgent Care/Emergency Services for Scripps Clinic. "The quality of the images and how they can be manipulated is outstanding. The speed at which they're delivered quickens medical decision-making and helps me provide better care to the patients."
