SDTC Has Approved Cantronic Systems and its Alliance Partners for a CDN $1.716M Grant Funding for Developing Infrared Gas Imaging Systems

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 2, 2005) - Cantronic Systems Inc., (TSX VENTURE:CTS) - On October 6, 2005, the Board of Directors of the Sustainable Development Technologies Canada Foundation (SDTC) approved the grant funding of $1,716,000 over three years to the Gas Imaging Alliance led by Power Diagnostic Technologies Ltd. (PDT) of New Westminster, BC. Cantronic Systems Inc. is an instrumental consortium member.

"We carry a critical role in this Alliance. Our involvement in this project promotes and exploits our available technologies and provides us with the opportunity to move into a very attractive, and expanding market of leak detection and remote monitoring of methane gas emissions. The SDTC initiative is complementary to Cantronic's plan to grow greatly into the North American market, and, to expand our technology beyond anywhere we've been before," says James Zahn, President & CEO of Cantronic Systems Inc.

"Working with Alliance partners from Canada, which include BP Canada Energy Company and the Alberta Research Council, USA, Holland and Israel, Cantronic's considerable expertise in designing and fabricating small handheld Infrared devices will help the Alliance to achieve its objective of offering the oil and gas industry a highly portable gas imaging system with full leak calibration within three years. "This project's future success will further benefit all Alliance members including Cantronic Systems," says James Symons President and CEO of Power Diagnostic Technologies Ltd.

Cantronic now has the opportunity to expand its presence into new applications and new markets. These activities will complement Cantronic's special systems programs in the international security and medical diagnostics markets, such as fever-based detection of individuals with fever-like symptoms, a key indication of SARS and Avian Flu (Bird Flu).
