SDX Announces Morgan Spurlock to Headline 12th Annual Interactive Day San Diego

Academy Award Nominee to Speak on May 6, 2016 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwired - April 14, 2016) - SDX, San Diego's premiere media, marketing and technology organization announced that world-renowned writer, director and producer Morgan Spurlock will be the featured keynote speaker at this year's SDX Interactive Day San Diego on May 6 at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront.

According to Doug Hecht, Seed San Diego and current SDX president, "In addition to his film and television work Morgan Spurlock has been on the forefront of digital content creation which is a very hot topic among brands, agencies and marketers. Our attendees will be very interested to hear what he has to say."

"Morgan Spurlock instantly resonated with our industry with his first film, Super Size Me which went on to get an Academy Award nomination. Since then, he has been an extremely prolific contributor to content creation on a variety of channels," said Chad Robley, founder of Mindgruve and SDX Interactive Day co-chair.

Spurlock's speech will focus on branded storytelling as it relates to the future of digital experiences of all kinds.

Morgan Spurlock is also president and founder of full-service New York-based production studio Warrior Poets which led Hulu's push into original programming with their first series, A Day in the Life, and helped ignite Yahoo's original content strategy producing three separate series over the last few years including Failure Club, Mansome and Losing It with John Stamos.

Spurlock's The Greatest TED Talk Ever Sold has nearly 2 million views. With humor and persistence, he dives into the hidden but influential world of brand marketing, on his quest to make a completely sponsored film about sponsorship. (And yes, onstage naming rights for this talk were sponsored too.)

SDX Interactive Day San Diego is the premier digital marketing and ad technology event on the West Coast. This annual conference showcases the industry's latest advancements while spotlighting top thought leaders and innovators.

Tickets are available at or by calling the SDX office at 619.255.2281.
