Sea Breeze Power Corp.: Global Roundtable on Climate Change-Post-Kyoto Framework

Sea Breeze Joins 85 Companies in Endorsement

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Feb. 20, 2007) - Sea Breeze Power Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SBX) is pleased to announce that it has joined an unprecedented group of companies and organizations from around the world to formally endorse The Path to Climate Sustainability: A Joint Statement by the Global Roundtable on Climate Change.

Since 2004, the diverse members of the Global Roundtable on Climate Change, an initiative involving more than 100 high-level stakeholders and experts from around the world, have convened twice a year to explore areas of potential consensus regarding core scientific, technological, and economic issues critical to shaping public policies on climate change.

A groundbreaking outcome of these dialogues was launched today, Tuesday, February 20 by Roundtable participants in the form of a Joint Statement-a specific post-Kyoto framework that lays a foundation for affecting change at the levels of policy and industry, particularly in regard to creating sustainable energy systems necessary for achieving economic growth.

The statement-also endorsed by Air France, Alcoa, Bayer, General Electric, ING, Patagonia, Ricoh Company, Stora Enso, Suntech Power, Volvo, and others-calls on governments to set scientifically informed targets for greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The agreement urges governments to place a price on carbon emissions and to set forth policies aimed at addressing energy efficiency and de-carbonization in all sectors.

Categorizing climate change as "an urgent problem", the statement lays out a proactive framework for global action to mitigate risks and impacts, while also meeting the global need for energy and economic growth. It outlines cost-effective technologies that exist today and others that could be developed and deployed to improve energy efficiency and help reduce greenhouse gases in major sectors of the global economy.

As a leading developer of renewable energy and state-of-the-art transmission systems, Sea Breeze's endorsement of the Joint Statement was solicited by the Director of the Global Roundtable on Climate Change.
