Seacliff Awarded $10.4 Million Contract to Install New Digital Library System at University of Calgary

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 18, 2009) - Seacliff Construction Corp. ("Seacliff") (TSX:SDC) today announced that Canem Systems, its electrical and data communications contracting arm, has been awarded the $10.4 million electrical contract for the Taylor Family Digital Library (TFDL) at the University of Calgary in Alberta. Canem will supply and install all the electrical equipment and systems at the TFDL, a new 265,000 square foot facility that will incorporate the university's existing library, and its other cultural resource departments and services.

"The new Taylor Family Digital Library will employ a cross-section of leading-edge technologies to unite a broad range of multi-media educational resources and promote unique new ways of learning," said Bill Crarer, Seacliff's CEO. "As a specialist in complex, high-value institutional projects like this one, we believe that Canem was a natural choice for the job. We are extremely pleased to have been selected."

The TFDL is part of a three-phase, $144 million project to be built by CANA Construction Ltd. In addition to the TFDL, the project involves construction of a new High-Density Library (HDL) building to house additional library collections, and the landscaping redevelopment of the Taylor Family Quadrangle (QUAD), an adjacent 285,000 square foot gathering place. Designed for the 21st century scholar, the combined facility will include: new and expanded learning commons; an art museum; an Internet cafe; collaborative workrooms; presentation practice rooms; video conferencing; audio-visual viewing rooms; editing and recording suites; multimedia labs; and computer-equipped classrooms.

Construction of the TFDL has commenced and completion of all three components (the TFDL, the HDL building and the QUAD) is anticipated by the end of 2010. Month-by-month construction time-lapse videos of the site can be viewed at
