Seacliff's Construction Contracting Division Successfully Completes Landmark Speed Skating Oval

Richmond Olympic Oval to Host Grand Opening December 12th and 13th

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 12, 2008) - Seacliff Construction Corp. ("Seacliff" or "the company") (TSX:SDC) today announced that Dominion Construction ("Dominion"), its general contracting business unit, has completed work on the Richmond Olympic Oval, on time and on budget. As construction manager, Dominion was responsible for the smooth administration and tight execution of the entire $178-million project.

The Richmond Olympic Oval will host 12 speed skating medal events during the 2010 Winter Olympics before being converted into Canada's largest multi-use community centre. The grand opening of the 343,000 square foot complex will take place today and on Saturday, December 13th, with several ribbon-cutting ceremonies, aerial dance performances, interactive skating shows and free public skating sessions scheduled.

"This evening's grand opening of the Richmond Oval marks a highly satisfactory conclusion to Dominion's participation in the construction of the complex," said Bill Crarer, Seacliff's CEO. "We were first retained to manage the construction of the Oval in late 2004. Since then, we have seen the building evolve into a marquee venue that offers a high degree of long-term functionality and beauty to all future users. It's been a great thrill to be so closely involved in this landmark project. This is exactly the type of large-scale institutional construction project Dominion excels at, and we are proud to include it among our successes."

Set on the banks of the Fraser River in Richmond, BC, the Richmond Oval boasts a number of leading-edge design and engineering features, including a spectacular roof made from more than one million board feet of mountain pine beetle-killed wood, a heat-exchanger that recycles residual energy from the refrigeration system, and an asymmetrical building structure that provides views of the river's foreshore, downtown skyline and North Shore mountains. Following the Olympic Games, the LEED-certified building will be converted into a huge community centre that will accommodate two international ice sheets, several hardwood ball courts and a 200-metre running track.
