Sealweld to Use NGRAIN Software to Develop 3D Maintenance Manuals for Injection Equipment

In an effort to reduce support costs and maintenance costs for their customers, Sealweld looks to integrate NGRAIN's 3D interactive simulations into its operations and training manuals

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Aug. 20, 2007) - NGRAIN, provider of 3D performance support solutions, announced that Sealweld Corporation ("Sealweld") will use NGRAIN's 3D software to integrate interactive 3D equipment simulations into the Company's operations and training manuals for its injection equipment.

In association with some of the world's leading valve and actuator manufacturers, Sealweld has also developed a comprehensive training and qualification program for pipeline valve maintenance technicians. Sealweld plans to further enhance the ValvePro® program (the SAIT-certified valve maintenance technician training program) with NGRAIN-enabled virtual task trainers which will allow valve maintenance technicians to learn and practice procedures. Virtual practice has been shown to reduce training times by up to 60% and better support training in the classroom and in the field.

"By incorporating NGRAIN into our manuals, we expect to see both a reduction in support costs and a reduction in maintenance costs for our customers," explained Dean Chisholm, President of Sealweld Corporation. "Currently, Sealweld's customers send their equipment back to the plant for repairs which is a lengthy and sometimes expensive process. A simplified maintenance manual that includes interactive 3D simulations of our pumps will enable our customers to perform the maintenance work themselves. Using 3D provides a more effective way to understand both the equipment and in-field repair procedures."

NGRAIN's software accelerates learning on all types of equipment, which ultimately helps to reduce maintenance and training time. NGRAIN is designed to seamlessly support distributed learning providing an ideal fit for today's energy industry leaders that have a geographically dispersed workforce.

"On the heels of our new Energy Division announcement, we are very excited to see NGRAIN adopted by Sealweld, a leading manufacturer of emergency valve sealing products and developer of ValvePro," said Paul Lindahl, NGRAIN CEO. "This not only gives NGRAIN the opportunity to support pipeline valve maintenance services and training activities for a global provider and its customers, but also provides us a great entry point to move NGRAIN towards an industry standard training tool within the energy sector."

NGRAIN transforms the sustainment of complex equipment with 3D performance support solutions for the military, defense manufacturing, commercial aviation, and energy industries. NGRAIN increases equipment readiness by accelerating learning on complex equipment, enabling first-time-right performance, and reducing maintenance cycle time.

NGRAIN is optimized for web deployment and portable devices. With NGRAIN, anyone can rapidly incorporate interactive 3D equipment simulations into sustainment applications, including courseware and technical manuals.

Customers include all branches of the United States military, the Canadian Forces, and leading defense manufacturers and system integrators, including Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and CAE.
