Sean Downs Wins Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award

Enclarity CEO Recognized for Innovative Healthcare Industry Solutions and Charitable Efforts by the Orange County Business Journal

ALISO VIEJO, CA--(Marketwire - March 18, 2008) - Sean Downs, president and chief executive officer of Enclarity, Inc. was recognized as one of five winners of the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award by the Orange County Business Journal (OCBJ). The awards recognize the achievements of outstanding Orange County, Calif. business leaders and entrepreneurs. Enclarity provides correct, current, comprehensive provider information to the healthcare industry.

Downs and Enclarity were selected from more than 135 nominees representing leading businesses in the region for exemplary entrepreneurial leadership, the creation of innovative solutions for the healthcare industry, and his extensive charitable efforts. The Awards are presented each year by the Orange County Business Journal and consulting firm Ernst & Young.

"Sean is an outstanding example of entrepreneurship in Orange County," said Richard Reisman, publisher, Orange County Business Journal. "Not only has he built a great company with an innovative solution to a persistent problem, he has also created a charitable organization with similar goals."

Downs and Joel Portice founded Enclarity in 2005 with the simple vision to make the healthcare business process more efficient. They understood one of the underlying problems plaguing the healthcare industry was erroneous provider data, and it could be fixed. The pair collected the best "data" minds from a variety of industries to analyze healthcare provider data and apply proven analytics to cleanse the information.

The result is the solutions Enclarity provides to its customers today. Each solution is built on analytic and database techniques honed in the financial services industry that automatically cleanse and augment files by identifying and updating duplicate and incomplete records.

At the core of Enclarity's solutions is its Master Provider Referential Database. Containing more than 140 million records about more than 4 million providers, the database is a unique blend of thousands of sources, advanced analytics and healthcare industry expertise. Using its proprietary AcuSync™ process, Enclarity is able to match a payer's provider file to the Master Provider Referential Database to efficiently and reliably deliver the most correct, current and comprehensive information available.

Charitable efforts to help the needy

As dedicated as he is to his business, Downs also commits a significant amount of his time to help some of the world's poorest people. In 2001, Downs co-founded a non-profit public charity, The Sumba Foundation, dedicated to providing health services and humanitarian aid to the indigenous people of Sumba, Indonesia. He serves currently as president and director for The Sumba Foundation.

"What makes Sean such a well-deserved winner of the award is that not only has he been an important force in Enclarity's growth, he has also been instrumental in growing The Sumba Foundation into a meaningful organization that is positively impacting the lives of the people of the island of Sumba, Indonesia," said Portice, chief operating officer, Enclarity. "To be able to accomplish both is true entrepreneurship."
