Sean Paul Nominated for His Second Straight Grammy for Record-Breaking Album "The Trinity"

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 8, 2005 -- Sean Paul has been nominated for Best Reggae Album for his history-making album "The Trinity" (VP/Atlantic), NARAS announced today. This marks the second time in as many albums that Sean Paul has nabbed the honor of the Recording Academy for his groundbreaking, signature blend of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop.

From Boston -- where he is currently on tour in support of "The Trinity" -- the King of Dancehall says, "I feel honored to be nominated for the second time and humbled to be in a category with such talented and great artists, and I wish everyone good luck! It's so powerful for reggae music to have newer generation artists like Damian, Shaggy, and myself representing alongside legends like Burning Spear and Third World!"

"The Trinity" set a sales record for reggae music earlier this year when it sold over 107,000 units in its first week. It has gone on to sell over 346,000 in the US and additional 775,000 copies around the world in just two months, putting it on track to best 2003's 6x-platinum "Dutty Rock," which earned Sean Paul his first Grammy.

Like "Dutty Rock," "The Trinity" is fueled by great songs that make people want to get up and move. Blaring out of every radio and every club, first single "We Be Burnin'" flew up the Billboard Charts to #6 on the Hot 100 Chart and continues to dominate after more than two months of airplay. The second single is sure to be a scorcher as well -- the video for "Temperature" received its premiere this week on MTV2 with a half-hour special, and is already playing on radio and in clubs.

Named "The Trinity" because it is Sean Paul's third album (second with Atlantic), three years in the making, and made entirely in the "Third World," the new album is already on pace to best "Dutty Rock," which transformed the music scene and brought authentic Jamaican dancehall reggae from an underground phenomenon to the mainstream of popular music around the globe, winning Sean Paul his first Grammy in the process.

Sean Paul is currently on the first leg of his "The Trinity World Tour," which will come to Hartford, CT; Providence, RI; Washington, D.C.; Chicago, IL; and Atlantic City, NJ in the coming week.
