SearchGold Reports Significant Drilling Results on Lake Fortune West Gold Property, Quebec

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - June 8, 2005) - SearchGold Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:RSG) released today the final results of the 30-hole diamond drilling campaign totaling 2,972 meters on its 100% owned Lake Fortune West gold property located in the Rouyn Noranda area, North-western Quebec.

Three recognized gold bearing structures were tested in the course of this program in the three following sectors: the West, Central and East Sectors. On a total of 30 holes drilled, 19 holes intersected significant gold content with grades higher than 1.0 g/t Au.

The following table presents detailed results per Sector:

The West Sector was tested by a total of 18 holes totaling 1,750 meters. Eleven holes reported 13 intersections grading between 1.2 and 11.8 g/t Au. Most of these intersections are associated with Quartz-Tourmaline-Carbonate veins with low Pyrite content. The other mineralized intersections are related to silicified and brechiated shear zones with minor Pyrite content. A preliminary evaluation suggests the presence of a system of mineralized north-east trending shear zones with a dip towards the north-west.

The Central Sector, located between Lake Sanies and Lake Fortune 1,000 meters east of the West Sector, was tested with 3 holes totaling 445 meters. Two holes reported low grade intersections in narrow Quartz-Carbonate veins with 1-3% Pyrite content.

Finally, the East Sector was tested with 7 holes totaling 777 meters. A total of 11 mineralized intersections grading over 1.0 g/t Au were reported over widths varying between 0.3 and 4.1 meters. Gold mineralization occurs in three specific environments:

1. Quartz-Carbonate veins with low pyrite content,
2. Quartz-injected shear zones with minor pyrite content,
3. An intrusive unit showing an anomalous gold content of over 150
ppb over significant widths (7.7 to 14.3 meters).

Given the appreciable quantity of historical and recent data available, it is highly recommended to proceed with a compilation in order to improve the geological understanding of the property and generate future drilling targets. Special attention should be paid to all available geophysical data in correlation to observed structural and geological features. It has also been observed that the Gabbro unit located on the south side of the Francoeur-Wasa shear zone in the North-west part of the property has never been tested and according to the encouraging results obtained at a similar level in the Gabbro unit located in the North-east part of the property; this should be a priority target.

Individual samples were taken from split core at variable intervals in the mineralized zones. Quality control comprises duplicates and inclusions of blanks and standards. The samples were taken to TECHNI-LAB, in Ste-Germaine de Boule, Quebec, where, after crushing and quarting, 50 g samples were analysed by fire assay method.

The drilling program was performed under the supervision of Mr. Jeannot Theberge, an independent geological expert and Qualified Person as required under Policy 43-101. The report and recommendation were produced by Mr. Jean Marc Gagnon, also an independent geological expert and Qualified Person as required under Policy 43-101
