Seattle Masters Athletes Invited to be a Part of the
World's Largest International Multi-Sport Event

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 9, 2005) - Today, Edmonton 2005
World Masters Games oganizers made a stop in Seattle as part of a road
show to rally participation and invite Seattle's citizens to come to the
Games.

The Games, to be hosted in Edmonton, Alberta from July 22 - 31, promise
recreational and elite athletes, 25 years of age and older, a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in a world-class sport
experience. The Games were created with a vision of promoting sport for
life among Masters athletes of all skill levels.

In 1998, Portland, Oregon hosted the Games where 11,400 athletes
competed. "We're aiming to attract 16,000 athletes from 100 countries to
compete in 27 sports over 10 days of competition," says Barry Anderson,
Executive Director of the Edmonton 2005 World Masters Games. "Everyone
from past Olympians to the weekend warriors who are stepping up to
compete in an international competition for the very first time will be
competing in the Games this summer." Already more than 10,000 athletes
from 56 countries have registered.

Athletes pay $185 to take in all of the competition and festivities
associated with an international sporting event - opening and closing
ceremonies, street party and other free nightly entertainment, a
backpack filled with giveaways and free transit service throughout the
city. Registration closes May 20, 2005.

"Not only will you have the chance to compete against athletes from
around the world, these Games offer all of the pageantry expected of a
major competition," adds Anderson. "The event presents a festival-like
atmosphere where athletes who are serious about their sport have some
serious fun, too. It's an event you won't want to miss."
