Seattle's Alexis Hotel Strikes "Gold" With Top Industry Honor

Seattle's "Work of Art" Included in Condé Nast Traveler's 2007 "Gold List" of World's Best Hotels

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- January 9, 2007 -- Seattle's art-themed boutique hotel, the Alexis, has been named to Condé Nast Traveler's "Gold List" for 2007. The 13th annual list is the definitive guide of the 700 best places to stay in the world, selected by Conde Nast Traveler readers. Each property is rated on various criteria, ranging from service, rooms, food, ambience and design, location and leisure facilities. The Alexis Hotel was also included in Condé Nast Traveler's "Gold List" in 1995, 1997, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004.

"It's a great honor to be included in Condé Nast Traveler's 'Gold List' for the seventh time," said Andrew Wright, General Manager of the Alexis Hotel, a Kimpton hotel. "This is a significant industry achievement, as the 'Gold List' is a powerful third-party endorsement that the Alexis Hotel is in league with the finest luxury properties around the globe."

The Alexis received a score of 81.7 out of 100, a testament to the hotel's unique amenities, including a permanent, rotating exhibition of Northwest art, themed luxury suites and the inviting Etherea Salon and Spa. The "Gold List" is comprised of the properties that received the highest ratings in the 2006 Conde Nast Traveler Readers Survey; to qualify for inclusion in these rankings, a property must receive a required minimum number of responses.

The Alexis Hotel will embark on a $5 million refresh in early 2007, updating the hotel's décor and amenities to further enhance the guest experience. The Alexis will offer uninterrupted service during the carefully phased remodel, slated for completion in June 2007.

Known as "A Work of Art," the historic Alexis Hotel is an AAA Four-Diamond hotel that showcases the distinctive diversity and culture of the Pacific Northwest through displays of original artwork and seasonal art exhibits throughout the hotel. Located on 1007 First Avenue at Madison Street, the Alexis Hotel is one block east of the ferry terminal and Seattle's waterfront and within walking distance of Pike Place Market and historic Pioneer Square.
