Seclore Announces Enhanced Connector for Protecting IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Systems Files

New Connector Enables Organizations to Extend the Use of IBM ECM Systems to Securing External Collaboration, File Sharing and Mobility

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2015) - Seclore (seclore.com), an award-winning provider of Next-Generation Information Rights Management (IRM) solutions, today announced the availability of its new Seclore IBM Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Connector for Seclore FileSecure. The new connector makes it even easier for organizations to secure information that is downloaded from their IBM ECM Systems. The Seclore IBM ECM Connector supports seamless integration with IBM FileNet via IBM Content Navigator.

Seclore FileSecure gives organizations the ability to automatically control and audit who can do what with a file (edit, print, copy, screen capture), when and from which device. With the connector, files downloaded from IBM ECM Systems can be automatically protected to ensure that only authorized users are allowed to access them. Because of the persistent security, files cannot be misused, regardless of how they are shared: over email, shared drives, USBs, or Cloud-based services.

"With the growing use of third parties to process loans, perform collections, and on-board new accounts, there continues to be a concern about how to safely share sensitive files," reported John Grillos, VP of Global Business Development at Seclore. "While these documents are secure when they are within an IBM ECM systems, once they are downloaded, they can be easily compromised. With our enhanced IBM ECM Connector, we are making it really easy for organizations to extend the reach and utilization of ECM systems to support external collaboration, BYOD, file-sharing and Cloud services."

The newest version of the Seclore IBM ECM Connector adds the following enhancements:

  • Integration with IBM Access Permissions enables Seclore FileSecure to leverage the existing IBM ECM policies to be extended to downloaded files
  • Real time query and enforcement of the latest permissions in the IBM ECM system, whenever and wherever a downloaded file is opened
  • Changing permissions in an IBM ECM folder are applicable to all the files downloaded from the folder
  • Ready integration with IBM Content Navigator for Mobile Apps

"By leveraging the IBM Access Permissions, we are now able to provide enterprise-level security controls for unstructured information without any additional overheads," stated Abhijit Tannu, CTO at Seclore. "Having a unified and simple access control mechanism for information, wherever it goes, allows the organization to focus on the business processes without having to continuously worry about information security risks."

The benefits of the new Seclore IBM ECM Connector include:

  • The ability to easily open and extend IBM ECM to external users (vendors, partner, contractors) and engage in external collaboration without the risk of information loss
  • Accelerated adoption of file-sharing, Cloud services, and BYOD due to persistent file-security
  • Ease in maintaining file-level usage policies since they are centralized within the IBM ECM System
  • Reduced overheads of policy configurations for dynamic processes such as loan processing, claims administration and new account opening
  • Ability to add control over content downloaded from IBM ECM with minimal overhead
