SECUDE Announces a New Release of Halocore for Data Protection

Halocore for Data Protection Enables SAP Customers to Safely Store, Move, and Use Sensitive SAP Data Across Any Device and Any Location

ALPHARETTA, GA--(Marketwired - Jun 16, 2015) - SECUDE, an innovative data security provider specializing in security for SAP software, today announced the newest release of its flagship data-centric security solution, Halocore for Data Protection, with enhanced features. Halocore for Data Protection is a one-of-a-kind technology that helps enterprises protect their intellectual property and other sensitive data extracted from SAP systems. With the new classification and alerting functionality along with the integration with SAP BusinessObjects and Business Intelligence dashboards, Halocore for Data Protection enables businesses that run SAP to remain safe and compliant, allowing secure information sharing with minimal work interruptions, while minimizing the risk of data loss.

"In today's dynamic environment, enterprises encounter a growing number of both external cyber threats and internal risks, caused by the proliferation of mobile and cloud channels and the need of secure information sharing between global locations," said Michael Kummer, President Americas at SECUDE. "Fear of a data breach or loss is becoming the number one concern for C-level executives around the world. No matter where you look, the corporate perimeter is eroding. Many companies focus their defense strategy on the network layer, but that is no longer sufficient. With our focus on data-centric protection, SECUDE's goal is to enable SAP customers to run their business processes smoothly, while ensuring their sensitive information is persistently protected regardless of its location."

Unlike traditional security technologies that focus on protecting the network from outside intruders or securing every possible storage location, Halocore for Data Protection takes a data-centric approach. Halocore extends the roles and authorizations scheme configured in SAP to any document extracted from SAP systems and applications, giving enterprises 360 degree control of sensitive data on-premise, in the cloud, across mobile devices, and even in partner networks. Protection is applied right at the moment of document creation in the form of encryption and usage rights that control how the document can be accessed, shared, and used (for example preventing editing and printing or restricting access to users in a certain department only). This ability to apply granular access control and rights management to documents throughout their lifecycle is a powerful weapon in any organization's security arsenal.

New Halocore for Data Protection features include:

1. Intelligent Classification: Halocore can now automate an often challenging task of classifying vast amounts of data downloaded from SAP systems by tagging documents with an appropriate classification label before they even arrive at the user's chosen medium. Halocore uses a powerful context-aware engine that assesses the different characteristics of the document being downloaded. The solution automatically determines the best classification match, such as Strictly Confidential, HR Only, Private, Public and more, then applies the label to the document metadata, allowing efficient downstream management of documents and integration with existing data classification and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools.

2. Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Alerting Functionality: By seamlessly integrating with the existing SAP Access Control infrastructure, Halocore's alert mechanism allows organizations to proactively detect security and compliance risks via real-time reporting. Halocore monitors all download and data extraction activity in SAP and raises alerts based on suspicious behavior. Appropriate personnel are made aware of and can acknowledge planned data extraction activity and can investigate unplanned or suspicious activity if the system deems the combination of access attributes risky.

3. SAP BusinessObjects / Business Intelligence Dashboards Integration: Halocore's auditing log can now be fully integrated into existing analytics tools such as SAP Business Objects and Business Intelligence solutions, to create dashboards for complete visualization of extracted data. Governance, Risk, and Compliance regulations rely heavily on the ability to know what actions are being taken with sensitive information that must remain secure. Since data today is digital and always in use and in motion, it is necessary to be able to provide a virtual audit trail, showing that sensitive data is being controlled and regulated within the enterprise and within national and international compliance guidelines.
