Security Benefit(R) Site Takes Sharper Aim at Retirement Plan Stakeholders

'SECURITYRETIREMENT.COM' Enhanced to Include Information Specific to Participants, Sponsors, And Advisors

TOPEKA, KS--(Marketwire - Nov 2, 2011) - Security Benefit Corporation, a Guggenheim Partners Company, today announced the launch of its upgraded securityretirement.com website.

The firm, which principally provides retirement accumulation and income solutions through independent financial representatives, re-tooled securityretirement.com based on feedback from the site's users. Kansas-based Security Benefit provides retirement plan services for more than 135,000 accounts throughout the nation.

"The website is a particularly valuable tool for educating participants about their retirement," said Jim Mullery, President of Security Distributors, "and we want to make it as effective as possible to that end. I believe these updates give us a great chance to help our customers be better prepared for retirement."

Beyond changes in design and appearance, securityretirement.com has been enhanced by the addition of information specific to plan participants, plan sponsors, and plan advisors, including:

  • Life stage content divided into four life stages of retirement planning to increase the level of participant engagement and minimize the level of complexity and confusion, and
  • Retirement planning calculator links to give participants easy access to calculators that will help determine their retirement needs and how much they will need to save to meet those needs.

In addition to traditional drop-down menu selections from the securityretirement.com homepage, the firm has included a Participant Retirement Center Video Tour to help users navigate the site. Account access was unaffected by the site's enhancements.

Security Benefit has $38 billion in total assets under management and partners with 27,000 licensed and appointed financial planners and representatives through a network of 700 broker/dealers. The firm was purchased last year by a group of investors led by Guggenheim Partners, a privately held global financial services firm with more than $125 billion in assets under management.
