Security First Corp. Chief Technology Officer Don Martin to Speak at Cloud Expo 2016

Shares Insight on Future of Cloud Storage

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 6, 2016) - Security First Corp., the industry leader in software-defined, data-centric security, announced today that the company's Chief Technology Officer, Don Martin, will be presenting at the 18th Cloud Expo on Thursday, June 9 at 4:20 p.m. in New York City. His topic, "Regaining Control of Storage Performance," will cover next generation technologies available for enabling availability, performance and confidentiality in the cloud, and discuss why a single cloud strategy is no longer ideal.

"Cloud provider server level agreements (SLAs) and terms and conditions (T&Cs) are traditionally optimized for huge customers, so applications demanding better confidentiality or higher availability typically can't reap the benefits of public cloud storage," said Martin. "However, technologies do exist that can enhance a multi-cloud strategy to provide high availability and complete confidentiality all the while maximizing the benefits of cloud storage."

Martin has over 25 years of security related experience, including mainframe consulting for IBM and Director of Technical Solutions at EMC. Throughout his career he has led teams of engineers responsible for designing and implementing network architectures that replicate data residing in many government facilities post 9/11. As a network engineer, he led and facilitated large-scale projects involving data migration, replication and continuous availability for both mainframe and open systems environments for numerous Fortune 500 corporations.

During the session, Martin will provide an in-depth look at new technologies that enable administrative control of data availability and confidentiality in the cloud. From secret sharing to information dispersal algorithms, this informative overview will highlight innovative tools available when utilizing a multi-cloud strategy.

Conference attendees are encouraged to attend the "Regaining Control of Storage Performance" session on June 9. Visit the conference website (http://www.cloudcomputingexpo.com/) for more information.
