Segal Brings More Than $4 Billion in Transactional Experience to Greenberg Traurig's Denver Office

DENVER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 29, 2006 -- Steven E. Segal, who has more than $4 billion in transactional experience, has joined Greenberg Traurig LLP's corporate and securities practice in its Denver office as "of counsel."

Segal has served as the principal attorney on more than 100 transactions ranging in value from $1 million to more than $500 million over the past 17 years.

"Steve has worked with everything from startups to Fortune 50 companies," said David Palmer, managing shareholder of Greenberg Traurig's Denver office. "He understands the lifecycle process -- not only where the company is today but where it is going and what it takes to get there."

Segal's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity transactions, public securities offerings, licensing transactions, and entity structuring and formation. He also counsels boards of directors and officers on general corporate and securities law matters. His clients represent a broad spectrum of industries, including: software, communications, Internet, life sciences, manufacturing, energy, real estate, financial services, transportation and consumer brands.

Most recently, Segal was a shareholder and director at Otten, Johnson, Robinson, Neff & Ragonetti, P.C., where in addition to structuring and handling financing and acquisition transactions, he expanded the firm's client relationships with real estate clients to include corporate and securities advice. He also helped lead the firm's branding and public relations initiatives.

Greenberg Traurig's reputation for giving attorneys the flexibility to innovate attracted him to the firm.

"Your clients definitely benefit when you have an intrepreneurial culture of fostering innovation with the assistance of corporate resources but without losing the flexibility to expand and manage your own practice," Segal said. "Plus, the cooperation between the different practice groups and offices at Greenberg Traurig allows you to draw on expertise in all areas of the firm. That makes the entire team so much stronger."

Over the years, Segal has presented and moderated on numerous seminar topics, such as initial public offerings, venture capital and strategic alliances.

Segal received his law degree from the University of Colorado and his bachelor's degree from Brandeis University.
