SEIU Canada: Casino Workers to Make Major Announcement About Union Drive

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - April 29, 2007) - Halifax Casino workers, who are employed by Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (GCGC), launched a union organizing drive to win increased wages, benefits, job security and overall fair treatment in their workplace.

The workers began the union organizing drive mid February.

The workers, employed at Casino Nova Scotia in Halifax, will make a major announcement about the organizing drive on Mon. Apr. 30. at 12:00pm outside the offices of the Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board.

Casino employees in Halifax have been supported by members and organizers of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 902 to form their new union.
