SEIU Canada-Media Advisory-Call for Reform: New Report on Ontario Home Care

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 14, 2008) - Service Employees International Union will be available to comment on a new independent report on Ontario's home care sector, authored by respected health policy experts, including the late Marian Dewar, which will be released next Monday at a press conference at Queen's Park and by teleconference. The report, entitled Home Care: Change We Need, presents the findings of an extensive cross-province consultation that included five public hearings across Ontario The hearings held in Toronto, Sarnia, Peterborough, Ottawa, and Thunder Bay, were sponsored by SEIU Local 1 Canada and the Ontario Health Coalition, but the report's authors were given a mandate to write an independent report based on the hearings and their own research.
