Semaphore Briefs Describe Ultra-Low-Power RTU Applications

LAKE MARY, FL--(Marketwire - September 23, 2010) -  Semaphore, a CSE Global company, has released two technical documents with information on applications of the T-BOX LP ultra-low- power wireless RTU for SCADA applications. T-BOX LP brings new technology to automation and monitoring of mobile asset management and irrigation system operations.

The Mobile Asset Management brief describes how T-BOX LP and other members of the T-BOX product family cost-effectively monitor and automate assets such as power generators. Running on solar power, the T-BOX LP meets the needs of medium-size generators and minimizes networking costs by using push technology to report on exceptions over public networks.

The Irrigation System Monitoring and Automation brief describes how T-BOX LP capabilities for remote automation, alarm management, and historical report generation provide efficient monitoring and control while conserving energy and water.

In all applications, an integrated, RTU solution manages input measurements and a broad range of communications devices to efficiently allow access to all locations. T-BOX extends advanced, IP communications, an integral web server, and push technology to comprise a very informative monitoring system. T-BOX further incorporates very flexible, programmable automation in IEC 61131-3 Ladder Diagram, Basic and Microsoft Windows Automation.

The documents are available on the Semaphore website, www.cse-semaphore.com.

T-BOX is the first IP-based telemetry solution that enables the complete integration of SCADA systems, control, and communications functionality in one rugged package. It leverages easy-to-use Web technologies and inexpensive public networks for decentralized monitoring and control systems. T-BOX products offer up to 50% less total installed cost per point versus traditional SCADA/ PLC systems and permit greater organizational access to data through automated reporting and browser software.

Semaphore's T-BOX and Kingfisher RTU products are ideal for a broad range of monitoring and control applications in the broadcast / telecom, infrastructure management, oil & gas, power, transportation and water / wastewater industries. For more information about Semaphore solutions, visit www.cse-semaphore.com, or contact Semaphore at 1200 Chantry Place, Lake Mary, FL 32746, 407-333-3235.
