Semphonic Announces X Change 2011 Non-Profit Challenge Winners

Non-Profits Oceana and United Way of the Bay Area to Benefit From Web Analytics Experts

NOVATO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 4, 2011) - Semphonic announced today that Oceana and the United Way of the Bay Area have been selected as the winners of the X Change 2011 Web Analytics Non-Profit Challenge.

"We are honored to be chosen for this year's Challenge," said Emily Fisher, Oceana's online editor. "It's a dream opportunity for us to improve our Web presence to get even more people involved in ocean conservation."

The Challenge is a new addition this year to X Change, the Web analytics industry's premier conference, which will be held this year in San Diego, CA this September 12-15.

X Change participants will work together to tackle digital measurement and optimization issues on the Oceana and United Way Bay Area Websites. This special event is an extra half-day (the 15th) following the main conference.

"I'm really looking forward to participating," said Semphonic President and Conference Founder Gary Angel. "It's a chance for some of the best digital measurement people in the world to work together. It will be a lot of fun. That we get to help out two very cool organizations is the big bonus."

"United Way of the Bay Area is excited about this opportunity to have some of the best minds in the industry analyze our website data," said Linda Shum, AVP Interactive Design and Strategy at the United Way of the Bay Area. "We're hoping to understand how the analysis can help us make the best business decisions to convert website visitors into long term donors."

"We do a great deal of work with non-profits," said Semphonic Vice President of Analytics Phil Kemelor. "Our work with them is always interesting and we expect that the analysis incorporated into the challenge will be much the same. Digital is a critical channel for today's non-profits; it's vital for fundraising, education, and, of course, engaging and growing the community. We plan to take the work done at the Challenge and make it freely available for all non-profits."
