Semphonic Announces X Change 2012 Non-Profit Challenge Winners

Non-Profits Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Network for Good to Benefit From Web Analytics Experts

NOVATO, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 13, 2012) - Semphonic announced today that Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Network for Good have been selected as the winners of the X Change 2012 Web Analytics Non-Profit Challenge. The Non-Profit Analytics Challenge is a rare opportunity for the brightest analysts in the digital measurement field to collaborate and assist non-profit organizations to optimize their websites.

"We are honored and excited to be participating in the Challenge. Online engagement is one of the most powerful tools available to nonprofits, and doing it well starts with data. By working with world-class web analysts, we gain the keys to working smarter and connecting better with the thousands of wonderful causes we serve," said Katya Andresen, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, Network for Good.

This is the second year of the Challenge, which runs at X Change, the Web analytics industry's premier conference, which will be held this year in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA at the Terranea resort, September 10-13th.

X Change participants, paired with industry-leading digital analytics consultants from Semphonic, will work together to address digital measurement and optimization issues on the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Network for Good websites. This special event is an extra half-day (September 13th) following the main X Change conference.

"I think of the Challenge as rather akin to an old-fashioned 'barn-raising' -- it's a chance for some of the very best practitioners in our field to work together. Like any barn-raising, it's done partly for the experience -- the joy of working together and building something very cool and very quickly -- and partly for the chance to help out. It was amazing how valuable last year's event was to the United Way and Oceana. You don't think of analytics as something you can accomplish in a day but it's surprising what a group of experts can accomplish in a day," remarked Gary Angel, President and CTO of Semphonic.

"The Chesapeake Bay Foundation is thrilled to have been chosen for this year's X Change Non-Profit Analytics Challenge. Our website,, is one of our most important tools for educating the public about the Chesapeake Bay and for inspiring action to restore our national treasure. For that reason, we appreciate this significant opportunity to work with leading web analysts optimizing this vital digital channel to educate, inspire, and ensure a legacy of clean water for future generations," said Rob Beach, Director of Community Building and Digital Media at Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

"In our first Non-Profit Challenge last year, we were able to help Oceana and United Way of the Bay Area use analytics to boost donations, spend their marketing budgets more effectively and optimize SEO. For this year, we are looking forward to building on what we learned in our work with Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Network for Good," added Semphonic Vice President of Analytics, Phil Kemelor.
